Sculpture

A simple box filled with sand rests on the floor. Coming closer to the object, one sees a figure drawn in the sand. It is a simplified outline of the American stealth bomber Northrop B-2 spirit whose construction is designed to evade radar, making it hard for anti-aircraft defenses to register. Although originally developed for the eventuality of a conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, it was not deployed until 1999 during the so-called Kosovo War. Further deployments followed in 2001 during the Afghanistan War, in 2003 during the Iraq War, and in 2011 and 2017 in Libya. Formally speaking, the work recalls the way children draw in the sand with sticks.
