Commissioned by Art the Vote, Missouri

Eight artists were commissioned by Art the Vote, a nonpartisan organization of artists and arts supporters, to create billboards in Missouri encouraging people to vote in the November 2008 presidential election. More than seventy billboards were placed along highways and in cities across the state in September and October of that year. The artists chose diverse issues to address, though all were asked to include the phrase, "Vote: Your Future Depends on It." Rosler subsequently turned the work, without its text, into a large printed photograph.
